Life is all about exploring. Not just the many facets of the outer world – the impressions gained by absorbing the vividness of Costa Rica’s lush forests and exotic beaches, or on the other hand, seeing the pollution and misery, which poverty creates in the back alleys of Mumbai. No, but also the many facets of the inner world. The insights which suddenly jump into your mind during these acts of exploration.
A passionate explorer of far-away countries and the inner realm, I take notes and snapshots of all the impressions and insights collected during my stroll through life. Serving as a journal, I hoped this collected material could serve you and other spirited explorers as an inspiration. This is how Notes of Nick was created in 2023. To inspire you to venture into the outer and inner world. Either by reading or by watching – Notes of Nick is a call to explore.

Hello! My name is Nick Koch, a German vagabond in his late twenties with one strong conviction: I believe that in every corner of the world – from the mountains of Guatemala, the alleys of Paris, to the place you are sitting right now and reading this – there is something new to learn, something to explore.
I created Notes of Nick in 2023, after an inspiring year-long trip through the Americas, Eastern Europe and India, which resulted in me leaving my job as a police officer. Based on my personal notes, this website is a passion project – an explorer’s journal which captures all the different insights and impressions you get during the process of exploring our planet.
